Dr. Tyler Davis, D.O.

Dr. Davis is a comprehensive ophthalmologist who currently practices in Wilkes County, NC. He attended Wake Forest University on an academic scholarship, and completed his medical training at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine where he graduated with honors.

He completed his internship at East Tennessee State University and completed his ophthalmology training at Wake Forest Baptist University where he served as a Chief Resident during his final year. Dr. Davis is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He performs surgery at Wake Forest Baptist Health Wilkes Medical Center.

He is married to his childhood sweetheart, and together they have 5 beautiful children.

  • Why did you choose to specialize in ophthalmology? Ophthalmology provides a rewarding mix of surgical and clinical opportunities allowing me to treat acute injuries and develop lifelong relationships with my patients. Ophthalmology also provides a unique mission opportunity of restoring sight by removing cataracts in developing countries.
  • What is your favorite part about being an eye surgeon? Improving my patients' quality of life through improving their sight. It is very rewarding having a patient shed tears of joy on the post-operative visit following cataract surgery.

He is an expert in cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, dry eye syndrome, and diabetic retinopathy among other things. Ophthalmologists are medical and osteopathic doctors who provide comprehensive eye care, including medical, surgical and optical care.
